House is in a Shambles!

A complete shambles!!!

The kitchen has half been taken out, we're cooking on the BBQ out the front, and the two spare rooms are taken up by the temporary kitchen and all of my boxes....

All of that de-cluttering that I did before I moved seems all for nothing! (which I now wasn't - I'd have even more!)

The clutter is getting too much though..... last weekend we FINALLY had sun, so I was able to finish off the washing we had. A month of it. I wanted to tear my hair out.

So I wanted some advice - what items to get rid of, ideas for the garden, any ideas on what to cook without a kitchen, and how to organise mine and MrDiors stuff.....

At the moment there's only a little bit of my stuff around, and it still feels like I'm "staying overnight". But I don't want to make the place too girly also....

At the moment I just want it to be organised.... and that big pile of rubbish/parts of the kitchen out the front to be gone.....

I never thought I'd be asking to go back to the tip!!! ;o) I'll take pics tonight - it truly is crazy!

OTK Boots

There's a thread going on at the Vogue Forums about these, and you know what - I think I'm going to take the plunge.

And isn't it typical, the ones I wanted are now gone.

WHY ASOS??? Why do you only keep items in the basket for 2 hours. You need more than that to look over the site! I'm not even halfway through when you start to take items out....
It hurts my feelings.....

And at £38, how can you argue? Sniff... off to find some others!

What are your feelings on these? Should they only be worn with certain types of clothes? Not at all?

Faking confidence

Sometimes I feel like I'm that girl back in high school.... Which makes me feel a little pathetic ;o) It's been 10 years!

I confuse myself sometimes... I can come out a blazing, and not care what anyone thinks of me, be Miss Confident and then I can be upset at such stupid petty things. Like followers! (up to 7 though - woot!!) Or uploading outfit posts... why am I so worried? Do I REALLY care what other think that much? Alas, I think the answer is yes.....

So, I've given myself 30 minutes of "woe is me" and you know, on I get.

So I'm going to channel Dr Molly Clock from Scrubs( Season 4 - Her Story)

"Molly: You'll be fine. Just do what I do: Fake it till you make it.
Elliot: [laughs] Like when a guy is really bad in bed and you pretend that he is awesome so he doesn't go to a special store, buy one of those weird pumps, and then accidentally run into your dad?
Molly: Kind of....See Dr. Kelso over there? I have to go over and justify my program for our psychotic homeless population? Am I scared to go over to his table of stuffy fat guys, 'cause I know they're just gonna stare and my chest the whole time? Of course! But...I'm just gonna act confident, and they're gonna believe that I'm confident.

So, I'm going to fake it until I make it. Dammit! =) I don't see why not..... it's what I did when I moved to Sydney! Let's fake it ladies!

YSL In Australia

I've created a thread on the vogue.com.au forums, but I'm going to ask here -

I'm desperate!!

This is my new baby that I have been coveting for so so long. They're sold out in Australia and the US online boutique won' help me. Something about not accepting international orders (I have a parcel forwarding service) and the billing details have to be the same as shipping details.

So my mission for the rest of the week is to have one of these on order.

Does anyone know of a contact from a US YSL store that can help me?

I really want the package to come from YSL... silly, I know, but hey - why not?

S

Internet - lack there of!

Is it that hard to get internet in the Blue Mountains?

I'm getting desperate..... to the point where I'm looking at Telstra.

Yes, I used to wortk for them, but I would NEVER ever go with them...
Until now.....

What's a girl to do? It's not like I'm in Cowra.... it's damn Faulconbridge!

So, if anyone is in the mountains, or has friends, any suggestions for broadband would be ace.

Sorry for not blogging - I've hardly been on the vogue forums too! I miss it and all my online friends.....

Sniff!

Changed Priorities

So as I'm coming up to 30 soon (under two years - argh!) I've been re-evaluating my life.
Going over that list of things you wanted to do before you hit the big 3 0.

I don't think I've done more than two items. Sure, I can't find the list - well, one of the many I wrote, but know pretty much what's there. two out of 10. Not that good!

Be multi-lingual - No
Learn the acoustic guitar - No
Live overseas for a year - No
Be married - No (my life goal is to make it to 50 years of marriage - so I figured 30 is the age!)
Own a house - No
Have my own pets - YAY!

and probably the other usual ones like "Be skinny" etc - this one is obviously a work in progress, haha.

And it's not that the last 12 years have been unproductive. I moved out of home, in with friends, lived in a different state to my family, moved in with a boyfriend, moved back home with the family to Sydney, losing a boyfriend and started afresh in Sydney. I became more confident. Lost weight. Learned to love myself. Going through bad depression and pulling myself out of it.

I thought I would hate Sydney. It was my least favourite city ion Australia. I had only been here once, but I was certain I would hate it, and that it would hate me.

I was wrong. I am always wrong about things I am stubborn about.

The place was cold and scary to start off with, I won't lie to you. The first year here was damn hard. Not knowing anyone other than family, and trying to find friends of my own. To try and fit in. Not knowing that there was such a thing called the Vogue forums until two years ago. The horror!! ;o)

And then I realised I could be whoever I wanted here. I could be that person I WANTED to be in Brisbane. Confident. Funny. Try to be stylish. Cool and strong willed. To not be pushed around anymore.

So I decided to try.

And you know, Sydney has paid me back. I have some wonderful friends, my bestie E has moved here after gallivanting across the world alone (good on her I say!), and because of my wonderful friends I met here, I met MrDior.

Isn't it amazing how everything we do in life leads us somewhere? To think, if I hadn't decided to just move to Sydney (I was gone from Brisbane in 2 weeks), I would have never met my bf.

So, rather than be upset at what I haven't completed, I am going to be happy with what I have. A wonderful best friend, an amazing boyfriend who loves me and who I think the world of, a house over my head, wonderful friends, pets, family and love. My health. This is a lot more than what some people have.

So I am throwing out the list. It's not healthy, it just makes you regress and regret what you have no accomplished. We're not the same people we were when we wrote that list. Time has changed things. You have changed.

Look at what you have accomplished over the years. I'm sure it will truly amaze you =)
